Our Grant Recipents

Women of Color in Cannabis, WOCC

This grant will help us to continue to grow and scale our non-profit. We would like to expand our team, financially compensate volunteers with a modest stipend, and begin creating and launching programs we have in the pipeline that require large amounts of time and coordination. It will also help us to pay our monthly informational speakers who are SMEs, support local PoC small businesses through the purchase of goods and services, and continuously support and launch WOCC educational and entrepreneurship services.

UNLOC, INC

We are a group of legacy operators in the New York State cannabis industry that have banded together to help ensure there are pathways for legacy workers to receive support and training to enter into the legal market, not just as the labor force, but also as owners and leaders. This grant will help to provide us with seed money to help our organization grow. In order for a group of legacy operators to be taken seriously and objectively by the regulators and legislators we need to be structured in a way that we can show them we are serious and able to work on their playing field. We need a small work space, a website, a phone number, as well as the other basic needs of any start up organization.

CANNAWARE

Our mission has been to be a force of social change by providing cannabis education and advocating for cannabis justice, while bridging the gap between New York’s cannabis community and the ever-growing legal industry. This grant will help us to continue providing education and resources to ensure that all underserved communities have fair and equal access to the cannabis plant and industry. Through our education and resources, Cannaware supports the legacy market by offering spaces to network and help guide them through their transition process.

The Hood Incubator

We are a public education and political activation program targeting justice-impacted people, legacy operators, and farmers of color in the New York region.

This grant will help us to continue to train and support drug war survivors to be leaders in their communities, to lead and win campaigns to end racist drug policies, restore power to those harmed by the war on drugs, and to empower the legal cannabis industry to create high wage and ownership opportunities for drug war survivors.
